Last night we updated the site with some more user-requested features, including one significant change asked for by job seekers.
First, the changes on the recruiter side:
- It is now possible to upload documents in the Progress Tracker. Click on the Attach button to add documents such as interview notes, reference letters, work samples, etc.
- The system automatically converts resumes uploaded in Word format to PDF. This is to allow convenient opening in browsers. On rare occasions, depending on the formatting used in the Word doc, the conversion is not perfect and so we've now made it possible to download the original document as well. The original documents are available under the Docs button on the Candidate Profile.
- It's now possible to get new applicant notifications daily or as-they-arrive, in addition to the current option of weekly reminders. The frequency of notifications is set under the Account menu inPreferences.
- Hyperlinks can now be included in the Job Ad field.
The biggest change, however, is for job seekers and has been driven by applicant feedback. Now, when job seekers apply for jobs, they are able to upload documents to include for specific applications (e.g. cover letters) as well as general profile documents (e.g. resumes, transcripts, etc.). As part of this we've also improved the messaging to clarify which documents can be seen on all applications and which will be included on just one application.
